In fiction, the Oompa-Loompas were first featured in Roald Dahl's 1964 children's book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The original book first portrayed Oompa-Loompas as black pygmies from "the very deepest and darkest part of the African jungle where no white man had been before". The Oompa-Loompas natural enemy is the whangdoodle, an ambiguous but terrible monster. After the book's U.S. release, complaints of racism caused Dahl to rewrite the characters as dwarves with "golden-brown hair" and "rosy-white" skin. In the 1971 musical film adaptation, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the characters were again reinterpreted as orange-skinned and green-haired, very similarly to the Munchkins of 1939's The Wizard of Oz.
About Me IRL:
I am 27 year old MP in the Army. I have been facinated with the Final Fantasy line of games, spreading to the Squaresoft/ Square-Enix line of games since the original Final Fantasy. My wife plays on Anime Planet as well, so that is cool I guess. I have three daughters, 8 years old, 4years old, and one that was born August 16, 2008. I'm kinda upset that we don't have jetson transportation yet, because you can't have a bigger family and have a gas efficient vehicle, ya know? :D While this is not the first MUD that i have played, it is one of my favorites. I log as much as I can, but job and family restraints prevent me from logging as much as i would like.
